One of the basic definitions of the Law of Attraction is:
The Law of Attraction is the belief that by focusing on positive or negative thoughts a person brings positive or negative experiences into their life.
Sounds simple doesn’t it?
How many people have seen the movie The Secret by Rhonda Byrne? They have thought WOW! If I just imagine what I want I can manifest it.
But how many people has this worked for? My guess is not very many.
Why have so many people not had any success with the Law of Attraction?
I think it’s because what they have been told is TOO simplified. There is more to it than just think positive thought and great things will happen. Also just the reference of the Law of Attraction seems to make it all so mystical. But it really is not.
The Law of Attraction is really over promoted and got this air of mystery about it. Nobody thinks of the Law of Gravity, and goes ooohhhhh, you mean if I jump in the air I will come back to the ground because of the law of gravity…. Wow!!! Sounds kind of ridiculous doesn’t it. The Law of Gravity is no big thing, it is just a fact. The Law of Attraction is no big thing, it is just a fact.
The Law of Attraction is really my S.T.E.R.R. method:
S. Whatever your SITUATION is:
T. Creates a THOUGHT about that situation.
E. This in turn triggers an EMOTION
R. This Emotion causes a REACTION in the person.
R. Depending on the persons Reaction, it creates a RESULT. This result could be good or bad depending on the reaction.
I hope this has demystified the Law of Attraction for you a bit. But if it hasn’t, this is what I work with clients on. How to use this to help them feel better and have better lives.
