I am a Certified Weight Coach, who is also a Certified Holistic Nutrition Coach as well as a Certified Food Addictions Coach.
I get people who ask me why all these certifications?? Well because I struggled with my weight for a long time. I could not stick on a diet for more than 3 days, and I was at my wits end wondering how do I lose weight if I can`t seem to stick to a diet. I tried learning to love myself at the size I was, but I honestly could not do it, as the person who was in the size 16 body was not me. How could I love myself when I was a stranger to myself? I took Nutrition training because I figured that I just didn’t know how to eat properly. Nope, that didn’t help me lose the weight. I took Food Addiction training. That actually helped quite a bit to understand why I could not say no to certain foods. I also took Specialized Weight Coach training. Where I learned that managing my thinking was the key to managing my weight. Well after much searching and education I learned to like myself, I learned to understand myself, and to look after myself and that is when the weight started to come off.
I call my programs that I offer Mindful Eating, but they are not the same as typical Mindful Eating Programs - where you learn to eat slowly, to chew your food 72 times before swallowing and to meditate regularly. Sure those things are great.... but not practical for myself, and I`m sure not practical in many other peoples lives either. Mindful Eating in my programs is learning to be mindful of our thinking. In essence we learn to manage our minds. It is the things (or stories) that we choose to tell ourselves in our heads that cause us to over-eat, eat when not hungry or to choose foods that are not our best option. I am very proud of the fact that I don`t offer my clients meal plans, or exercise plans, but yet they are able to lose weight. I feel I have the best Weight Loss Coaching Program in Canada, and I want to let people to know, there is help out there to help them lose weight without having to diet.
